Students of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, have received their high-profile job offers from major computer science and engineering companies as well as tech giants in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science this year.
Divyansha Sharma received the top package of Rs 62 lakh from Google while Archit Jindal got the package of Rs 51 lakh from Microsoft. Brahamleen Kaur got a package of Rs 49 lakh, Ritika Goyal Rs 48 lakh from Google and Pulkit Sood got a package of Rs 45 lakh per year from Amazon.
As many as 25 students from the CSE Department got packages worth more than Rs 25 lakh per year. Prof BK Kanaujia, Director, NIT, Jalandhar, congratulated the achievements in making the department and institute proud.
The department has placed all eligible students this year along with the majority of students who have multiple job offers with an all-time high average package. “The recruitment process is going well nationwide and there are new high positions at NIT Jalandhar. It demonstrates the faith of tech companies not only in the institute but also the students and their advisors, ”said Prof Kanaujia.He added that the placements have improved from previous years.
In addition, the number of companies visiting the campus with big brands such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, Mphasis, Servicenow etc. has also increased. He also said that the institute is now focused on starting state-of-the-art specialization courses in emerging fields of computer science and engineering such as sensor networks and the Internet of things, data science and machine learning, big data and analytics. However, information security is already present as one of the specializations in the masters program. “Few students got good placements as well as packages,” Prof Kanaujia said.
