In the “Zoomtopia” online event, Zoom showed several new features: including a portal that allows users to profit from their own content, as well as integrated third-party applications and end-to-end encryption.
Live event market
According to Zoom, Onzoom is a marketplace for events, presentations, and courses organized through video conferences. This activity platform is suitable for professional, commercial, corporate or educational accounts. It can plan one-time events or events that occur regularly, and monetize by selling tickets directly through the platform.
Up to 1,000 people can participate in the event. Corresponding functions for registering events via email or social media are also integrated. Zoom said that the market is currently available in Beta in the United States.
Zoom’s built-in third-party applications
Zoom also showed off “Zapps.” These are third-party applications that can be used within the Zoom platform. Specifically, this means that users no longer need to switch between multiple applications on the desktop. According to Zoom, Zapps will be available before the end of this year and then open to all developers.
Zoom is currently integrating with many partners, including Atlassian, Asana, Box, Dropbox, Slack, Coursera and Servicenow. For example, you can share documents directly in Zoom with Zapps in Box or Dropbox, or use Asana to track items.

End-to-end encryption
Due to security risks, Zoom purchased encryption provider Keybase in May last year. Now, video platform providers have introduced end-to-end encryption. It can be activated by all users (also applicable to free accounts), and it is guaranteed that only participants’ devices (such as Zoom reports) are encrypted based on encryption keys.
Virtual reception and other new features
According to Zoom, the kiosk model of Zoom Rooms will allow visitors to company premises to make long-distance calls with receptionists. Zoom continues to work on improving key applications, such as background customization and staging, and the ability to watch videos in the virtual waiting room of the meeting.
Slack, the messaging service, wants to use Zoom. Read here which partner Slack hopes to join.
