LONDON (Reuters) – French retailer Groupe Casino and British online technology firm Ocado Group have said they will build e -commerce logistics centers for retailers in France in a major expansion of their partnership.
Ocado will also deploy its in-store fulfillment solution in the French company’s Monoprix stores, the companies said Thursday.
Ocado CEO Tim Steiner said the extension of the partnership, which was built in 2017 and works in Ile-de-France, will support expansion to other regions of France.
“For the first time, it will also open up the entire French grocery market to Ocado’s solutions,” he said.
No initial amount of capital is expected for either Ocado Group or Groupe Casino in creating the joint venture, the companies said.
