servicenow: ServiceNow is opening two data centers in India to meet strong customer growth

Bengaluru: Software-as-a-service (SaaS) company ServiceNow has announced the opening of data centers in Mumbai and Bangalore to meet strong demand from its Indian customers and meet their local preferences to reside in the data.

India is a leading growth market for ServiceNow and we see larger local organizations partnering with us to benefit from the power of our platform to drive their digital innovation needs, ”said Arun Balasubramanian, managing director of India and the SAARC region. “ServiceNow is committed to managing data locally and meeting India’s data protection and sovereignty standards,” he added.

This comes as the Indian government is proposing mandatory storage and processing of certain types of user data, collected by both Indian and foreign companies, in data centers within the country’s borders. The Personal Data Protection Bill, with data localization provisions is pending in the Parliament of India.
