Prasad recently joined AWS as a business development leader for the finance and administration vertical, where he led state and local government-focused business growth efforts. At AWS, Prasad has launched and grown the multi-million-dollar finance and administration vertical by addressing customers ’changing business challenges, including the transition from on-premises to the cloud.
Prior to AWS, Prasad was the head of statewide systems at State of Illinois, a leader in enterprise applications and team architecture. There, he reported to the state CIO and led key initiatives in digital government transformation. His efforts supported the formation of a new agency, the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) and the launch of statewide IT governance and key enterprise systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
Before working with Illinois, Prasad has had a 17-year career at Oracle in various roles. Her career highlights include managing complex technologies/business initiatives, a $ 16M consulting services department and a $ 25M IT portfolio of diverse technologies and market verticals. He has assisted in the implementation of innovative new IT law enforcement systems including Chicago Police Department and the Illinois State Police, managed the implementation of the Oracle portal for a health science company and managed, as part of the PMO, the largest implementation of PeopleSoft at that time for New York City University (CUNY).

Prasad received his BS in Engineering from Andhra University and an MS in Engineering from Michigan State University. He is a frequent blogger and industry speaker and has recently participated in prominent roundtable discussions.
