Universal deployment automation company, Octopus Deploy, is debuting its latest product updates in Octopus ServiceNow Change Management Integration and Octopus DevOps Insights early access—highlighting the company’s commitment to improving DevOps workloads in through process error prevention and broad insight. Octopus Deploy’s work with more than 350,000 IT professionals serves as a testament to its knowledge of the effective contribution of DevOps through deployment automation practices, according to the vendor.
“Deployment automation provides a collaborative and process environment at the intersection where ‘Dev’ and ‘Ops’ teams connect and work,” said Paul Stovell, CEO and co-founder of Octopus Deploy. “Change Management automation through our ServiceNow integration and DORA metrics insights will help our customers accelerate feedback loops and streamline change management, along with better visibility into the overall health of initiatives DevOps.”
With Octopus ServiceNow Change Management Integration, the complex deployment pipeline management of DevOps teams is reduced by automated solution generation of pre-populated, normal change requests with out-of-the-box traceability for higher assurance of CI/CD compliance and release management processes. This feature aims to increase the productivity of DevOps teams, while simultaneously making them more compliant. Automated change requests provide applicable stakeholders with the ability to ensure compliant and approved changes to avoid unapproved implementations; unapproved changes are never deployed, improving the auditing experience.
Octopus DevOps Insights works to improve visibility within DevOps functions through the four DORA metrics, enabling better enterprise decisions for internal improvement. This release is based on two levels of access; all customers will benefit from the deep insights generated by project-level access reports, while enterprise customers will have access to additional features to benefit their DevOps. These additional features include extensive data aggregation for metric comparisons across projects; more accurately identify problems and track improvements for better business decision-making; and generate measurable data about DevOps performance.
“We joined the DevOps Insights Alpha program and found it really useful,” said Leslie Brody, principal site reliability engineer at IMO who participated in Octopus DevOps Insights’ Alpha iteration. “Insights provide our teams with easily accessible, concrete data to help validate our assumptions and make decisions. They provide proof points to share with decision makers and allow managers to find the information they need at a glance.”
Other improvements released by Octopus Deploy Q3 2022 include:
- Added support for Configuration as Code variables within version controlled projects.
