Overview:
Dell is hiring an experienced Lab Support Engineer 2 at their Bangalore location. As a Lab Support Engineer 2, you will be part of a team responsible for running and maintaining a shared/LAAS (Lab-As-A-Service) lab. You will be responsible for developing, configuring Dell Systems in the LaaS Lab specific to our internal customer’s project needs [Dell Engineering] Team Member.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate should be:
Owning customer tickets (developing server and configurations to customer specifications) and driving for resolution resulting in high customer satisfaction while meeting Service Level Agreements
Provide technical assistance to our customers on config-related questions, helping maintain lab infrastructure, and working with customers to resolve issues
Lab inventory management through online tools and spreadsheets to provide real time knowledge of asset condition, location, and usage. Monitor and troubleshoot technical environment for problems and report to lead teams
Assist with hardware deployments and migrations, add/remove component parts, cabling, and asset audits
Assist with firmware updates, Server OS installation, driver updates, patches. Maintain a thorough understanding of all documented processes and procedures.
Eligibility:
2+ years of lab operations experience, working in a server hardware lab environment.
3+ years customer experience. Handling customer issues, escalations, achieving compromise solutions in short timelines
Demonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills, ability to work independently or in a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Take a proactive approach to discovering and solving problems when working with equipment.
Experience supporting Dell PowerEdge Servers or Dell Software environments. Good knowledge of multiple OS – Windows and Linux (Redhat, SLES, Ubuntu).
Good networking skills, Customer Service relations, Collaborate with team members. This is a local position that you must be in the area.
Qualification: Diploma/Bachelor’s College Degree. Experience with Jira, Confluence, MS Visio, MS Office, and database administration.
Experience with inventory management skills especially with radio frequency tags, CenterScape application or similar asset management tool
Experience with ServiceNow, other ticketing tools, troubleshooting tools, and process, and lab safety standards. Knowledge of basic networking and basic storage configurations will be an added advantage.
