ServiceNow Inc. said. that it plans to acquire a startup called Era Software Inc. to strengthen the capabilities of its Lightstep observability platform. The company says that once the acquisition is completed, Lightstep will be able to offer unified observability at a large scale, with customers receiving useful information from their entire IT infrastructure.
Although financial details of the acquisition were not made public, ServiceNow said it expects the deal to close in the fourth quarter of the year. The capabilities of Era and Lightstep, a business it bought in May 2021 and serves as the foundation of its core observability platform, will be combined, according to ServiceNow.
The company said they believe they can expand the unified observability workflow by integrating Era Software and Lightstep.
