The Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) is expanding its partnership with DXC Technology. IT service providers support railway companies to build comprehensive service platforms. This is based on Servicenow’s “Now” platform.
None of the partnerships with DXC Technology and the Servicenow platform are new. According to the announcement, SBB has been using corresponding platforms in the field of IT service management since 2014. At that time, it was decided to bring back the key functions of the previously outsourced IT service desk to the company “in order to reorganize IT operations and support internal customers.”
Servicenow’s “Now” platform best meets the needs of IT service desks. In the next few years, more business units continued to integrate into the platform-“From the field service management of the telecommunications department to the last project in the human resources field”. In addition, the platform provides a secure operation (SecOps) process for security management in the field of security event management.
Currently, they are working on realizing projects in the field of passenger information. “DXC will continue as a partner to further develop the platform and ensure that it meets internal and external requirements, further improve customer satisfaction and optimize operating costs,” said René Mulder, Managing Director of DXC Technology in Switzerland.
SBB Informatik may play an important role in establishing a service platform. Since January 2021, Jochen Decker has been the ultimate head of the department. Decker previously filled this position temporarily.
