ServiceNow Japan launches new product “ServiceNow Connected Operations” to transform operations by integrating IoT data with digital workflows | ServiceNow Japan GK press release

ServiceNow

ServiceNow Japan GK (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Masashi Murase, hereinafter referred to as ServiceNow Japan), which provides digital workflow solutions, today released a powerful new product “ServiceNow Connected” that integrates ServiceNow’s Digital workflow and IoT data. We are pleased to announce that we have begun to provide full “operations” (hereinafter referred to as “connection operations”) in Japan.

Today, in addition to traditional Internet connection terminals such as personal computers and smart phones, various things such as household appliances, cars, buildings, and factories all over the world are connected to the Internet. In 2020, we will enter a full-scale Internet of Things society, and it is expected that 50 billion smart devices will be connected. *Note 1. The 5G launched by major operators in March 2020 will become more popular in the future. If so, the use of the Internet of Things is expected to accelerate and bring about major changes in the business. However, its premise is that companies can effectively use IoT data.

Connected Operations will be launched on ServiceNow Japan. By directly integrating IoT data into the Now platform, it will be able to view near real-time information about the health and operating status of assets scattered in multiple locations on a single platform. May do. By gaining valuable insights from them, companies can evolve their business model into a new “product-as-a-service model” while realizing services that can increase customer satisfaction and achieve business success.

With Connected Operations, all problems that occur will be automatically notified to personnel as operational incidents, and serviceNow customer service management and ServiceNow field service management workflows are used to prioritize incident content. Can be solved. Therefore, troublesome maintenance adjustments between departments are eliminated, and even if problems occur, the burden on the company and customers can be reduced.

The functions of the connection operation are as follows.

  • Internet of Things Bridge:Data such as operating status can be imported from distributed assets connected to the Internet of Things into Now Platform to monitor the infrastructure. Authenticate and communicate with IoT devices through standard IoT protocols (such as MQTT and HTTP). It can be quickly and easily integrated into your critical IoT infrastructure, allowing you to flexibly expand the range of monitored devices to meet your IoT investment, including more devices that will be supported in the future.
  • Internet of Things Rules Engine:You can create a rule to notify the person in charge immediately when a problem occurs. No coding is required, and you can easily create rules through a simple and intuitive interface. These rules communicate using the rich business context of the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB). Once you integrate IoT data into the IoT Bridge, you can assess whether your data has potential problems in near real time.
  • Operational events:When the IoT rules engine detects a problem, it creates an IoT event, allowing you to merge one or more events into one operational event. Therefore, you can reduce noise and reduce false alarms. By leveraging and assisting digital workflows, teams can work together to prioritize affected assets and develop action guidelines to resolve incidents accordingly…
  • Connected workflow:Quickly integrate customer service management and field service management to manage your response, while coordinating work between teams in an intuitive workspace. With Connected Operations Workspace, you can create proactive cases in customer service management and notify customers who may be affected. You can also create work orders in Field Service Management and dispatch field technicians who can view IoT data for repairs.

Offer start period

Starting today, interconnected operations will be fully open in Japan.
