ServiceNow purchases Mapwize for indoor navigation

ServiceNow recently acquired the French company Mapwize. With the help of navigation experts, the technology giant hopes to expand its platform through indoor navigation for office environments.

For ServiceNow, Mapwize’s navigation technology supports the development of indoor floor plans so that employees can more easily locate and find directions in the office environment. Especially if they are large offices or other company locations.

Map technology

The Mapwize platform provides a virtual map of the office environment, and employees can read the map directly from the mobile application. In this way, they can move from one location to another faster.

Facility employees can use the software to easily create and upload floor plans. They can add icons to the floor plan to indicate important locations in the office and set direction indicators for them. When users open the map in their mobile app, a dot represents their location relative to the destination. In this way, Mapwize’s technology is an indoor version of Google Maps.
