ServiceNow achieves diversification through the acquisition of Mapwize map platform

ServiceNow

By acquiring Mapwize, an indoor map expert, the California publisher is strengthening its position in the service market. ServiceNow therefore hopes to provide companies with a way to manage their workspace to adapt to the hybrid model.

Mapwize was the first to stand out at the 2016 National Digital Enterprise Grand Prix, two years after its creation. The young Lille company then displayed the surveying platform (indoor surveying) in its building. The project was led by co-founders Médéric Morel (General Manager) and Mathieu Gérard (Technical Director), and is now acquired by ServiceNow, a publisher for company service flow management. The Santa Clara, California-based company plans to complete the acquisition of Mapwize in the third quarter of 2021. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

This is not the first time a publisher has acquired. Since its establishment in 2004, the company has acquired nearly 20 companies specializing in the field of artificial intelligence. We pay special attention to Element AI and Passage AI, which specialize in artificial intelligence, Lightstep for APM, the Indian publisher of the RPA solution Intellibot, and even its newly acquired Swarm64, which specializes in the development of management and communication solutions. Specially optimized for the PostgreSQL database. Therefore, with the advantages of the acquisition, ServiceNow now sets its sights on Mapwize and intends to strengthen its services for the company’s mixed employees.

Local integration of Mapwize solutions

Specifically, the publisher intends to provide employees with “internal mapping functions, they can use computers or mobile devices to book offices, meeting rooms, workspaces and workplace resources, as well as the internal positioning of the office. Office.” The company said in a statement that the solution developed by Mapwize “will also help general service departments manage and update office plans based on usage trends and changing real estate needs.”

ServiceNow will integrate the capabilities of Mapwize natively into the Now platform and its workplace service delivery suite available in the cloud. Specifically, this involves upgrading existing functions, such as workplace space mapping (internal mapping), workplace reservation management (booking management), workplace space management (space management), workplace visitor management (visitor management), cases and Knowledge Management (request and information management) and Safe Workplace Suite (return to office management). The publisher expects the feature to be available to its customers in the second half of 2022
