BITS-Pilani students get a huge pre-admission letter

Due to the increased demand for networks, cyber security, cloud connectivity, and data science spaces, recruitment in the IT department has surged, providing strong pre-employment opportunities for students from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, Hyderabad, and Goa ( PPO) and internship opportunities on campus this year.

The pre-recruitment season for 2021 recruitment started this month. The three BITS campuses have received PPOs from companies such as Microsoft, DE Shaw, Google, Uber, Cisco, Adobe, Salesforce, Amazon, ServiceNow, Oracle, and Flipkart in the IT field. All according to Balasubramanian Gurumurthy, Chief Placement Officer of BITS Pilani, the recruitment is very active.

Despite the pandemic, the IT industry still hopes to actively recruit this year. This trend may be similar to the general trend of the IT industry.

Chipset manufacturers such as Qualcomm, Nvidia, Micron and Western Digital are also hiring frantically, while the fast-moving consumer goods industry has seen Hindustan Unilever and Mondelez recruit interns from campuses, and ExxonMobil and Honeywell are also hiring. Quotations are provided for core mechanical and chemical profiles.

A total of 497 students received summer internship opportunities in various companies, of which 357 students (71.83%) received full-time job opportunities in their companies. In the 2021 recruitment season, 409 students received summer internship opportunities and 287 students received PPO. In terms of summer internship PPO, the average salary also increased by 6.2% to 28.99 million rupees per year, compared to 26.29 million rupees the previous year.

The number of hosting companies has also increased significantly, from 46 last year to 87, an increase of 89.13% over the same period. Correspondingly, the number of students placed so far has also increased significantly by 65.25% (975 in 2022 and 590 in 2021).
