Thirdera acquired Appoxio for an undisclosed price to expand the user experience and user interface of its ServiceNow platform.

Calgary-based Appoxio was launched in 2018 and was founded by former ServiceNow employee Frank Schuster. This startup is a partner of ServiceNow and focuses on UX/UI design portal development, custom applications and integration.

ServiceNow is a SaaS company based in Santa Clara, California. The company provides IT-driven digital workflow automation technology. In January, it acquired all issued and outstanding equity of Element AI for approximately $230 million.

All 40 Appoxio employees will join Thirdera, who will remain in the Appoxio office in Calgary and plans to expand its operations in the region. Schuster will become 3D’s senior vice president, reporting to Thirdera CEO Jason Wojahn, who founded the company in Leesburg, Virginia in 2021.

On its website, Appoxio claims to have a delivery team, each architect has an average of 8 years of ServiceNow experience, and has jointly built and certified more than 20 applications in the ServiceNow store.

Thirdera is also a partner of ServiceNow and provides workflow automation tools through the ServiceNow platform. Some of its products include IRM portals, where users can quickly locate operational tasks, submit policy exceptions, and complete IRM tasks in an application.

According to Thirdera, Appoxio’s expertise in UI/UX design will help the development of its newly announced business unit Thirdera Digital 3D (3D). The company said its users can expect a “frictionless experience” on the new ServiceNow platform, which will automate their existing workflows.

Wojahn said that 3D will focus on “the combination of people and technology” to innovate user experience design.

As the company turned to remote operations during the pandemic, it has accelerated the demand for technologies that help seamless digital transformation.

The global workflow automation market was valued at USD 8 billion in 2019 and is expected to reach USD 39.5 billion by 2027.
