ServiceNow integration signals to channel partners that Oracle is “cloud first”-Cloud

ServiceNow

The new integration between Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and ServiceNow, an enterprise digital workflow software provider, provides partners of the two companies with better visibility tools to provide services to customers.

Clive D’Souza, Oracle’s general manager and senior director of OCI strategic partner engineering, told CRN that this integration is now fully available and is designed to give distributed teams a clearer understanding of workload migration even in a multi-cloud infrastructure.

Joint customers can view changes in OCI instances and manage various resources through ServiceNow’s IT Operation Management (ITOM) software. D’Souza said that the integration should provide better customer service to the channel partners of the two companies.

“If I am an MSP, channel partner, or technology partner, I pray that Oracle is now part of the cloud product,” D’Souza said. “This is a cloud-first company. This is where almost all of our growth funds and resources are invested.”

This news reflects Oracle’s commitment to more integrations with companies such as VMware and Microsoft Azure, and recognizes that customers want to use multiple clouds.

In a recent Flexera report, approximately 90% of enterprises reported using a multi-cloud strategy and 80% of enterprises adopted a hybrid cloud strategy. Among companies using a hybrid strategy, 76% said they have integrated multiple public clouds.

“For any supplier and partner that is part of the corporate procurement tool chain, OCI is now part of the tool chain,” D’Souza said.

OCI users who use ServiceNow’s ITOM software have gained new functions for organization-level auditing, incident notification, and incident response services.

“When channel partners sit down with their end customers and design the architecture of the blueprint… we want them to know that we are open,” he continued. “Today, we are largely a cloud product. We have everything we need to run, operate, and deploy on a global scale.”
