ServiceNow Japan LLC (headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Masashi Murase, hereinafter referred to as ServiceNow Japan) is a business of Calbee Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Shuji Ito, hereinafter referred to as Calbee) using ServiceNow The cloud platform “Now Platform®” developed and started operating an application for monitoring employee attendance.
Calbee launched a remote office system in 2014 and launched a “mobile office system” in 2017, removing restrictions on the number of days of use and location of use.
With the spread of the new coronavirus infection and the need for work methods in the “new normal” era, Calbee will once again introduce the new normal work method “Kabi New Way of Work” for office workers in 2020. We announced that we will extend the working method based on mobile work indefinitely starting from July 1, 2020 (June 25, 2020).
The company has taken “standardization of mobile work and introduction of full flexibility” as one of the three pillars of this new way of working. Under normal circumstances, office workers carry out mobile work, by canceling the core time of flexible work, our goal is “attendance rate of about 30%.” Therefore, the company’s personnel and general affairs department urgently needs to understand the current status of employee attendance, and the company’s information system department entrusted to respond to the request decided to develop an application using the Now platform. Behind the adoption of ServiceNow in the development of this application, Calbee has adopted the Now Platform as a business platform to support the digital transformation that Calbee promoted last year to improve employee productivity and workability. I adopted it.
The newly-developed employee attendance rate mastering app realizes the work flow from employee attendance application registration to sending approval request email, superior approval, and even query attendance table, which can now be completed by individual, date, and department.
In traditional general-purpose application development, it often takes several months from planning to release. Using the Now platform this time, from the decision to develop applications on ServiceNow to the company-wide start of operations, including operational verification, it was completed in just 8 working days. Therefore, we have achieved a quick response to the requirements of the user departments, including the personnel department and the general affairs department, which was difficult to achieve before. The target users are approximately 450 employees working in the head office.
Calbee will continue to build a system that meets the needs of user departments as a business platform to achieve a new normal work style for employees. ServiceNow Japan will continue to contribute to DX’s efforts to improve Calbee’s productivity and make it easier for employees to work.
