Amazon Business Intelligence: Just enter questions about the business

Amazon

Amazon describes its new tool for business intelligence applications as QuickSight Q. With it, queries can be expressed in natural language. QuickSight itself is part of the AWS cloud and uses data from Amazon Redshift, RDS, Aurora, Athena, and S3 services, as well as multiple third-party sources such as Salesforce, Adobe Analytics, ServiceNow, and Excel.

To ask a question to QuickSight Q, the user only needs to enter it. Here, auto-complete suggestions can be helpful. These suggestions specifically include keywords and business terms from available sources. Therefore, the user does not have to remember the exact name of the data.

If the application does not understand the question or a single word, it will suggest alternative input from which the user can select the appropriate question. QuickSight Q remembers the correct name of the typed text, and the software outputs the answer in the usual BI format (such as a table or chart). These can be edited further.

Questions can also be saved as a topic, and users can also access questions raised by their colleagues in that topic. In addition, the person in charge can verify that the selected query and answer are correct together.

According to the Amazon blog, QuickSight Q initially only supports English, but it can also be obtained from the AWS Frankfurt region. Amazon launched QuickSight, a business intelligence service, in 2016.
