Atos Competitors
Atos: Company Background
Between 1996 and 2002, several small mergers and acquisitions led to the rise of Atos as a major IT provider in Europe. Atos Origin was formed in 2000, combining the recently merged Origin BV (BSO and Philips C&P) of the Netherlands and Atos (Axime and Sligan) of France. Soon, Atos Origin acquired UK-based KPMG Consulting and Schlumberger’s IT services division.
After acquiring IT subsidiary Siemens in 2011, the Paris metro-based vendor shortened its name to “Atos.” Atos initiatives in recent years have led to acquisitions of several digital, cloud, security, and decarbonization companies. The company’s nearly 40 acquisitions include multiple upcoming technologies, managed service providers, and IT channel partners.
Today, the French digital solutions company has 105,000 employees representing 139 nationalities and working in 71 countries. As a Societas Europaea (SE), Atos is a public company under the corporate governance of the European Union. The company boasts annual revenue of € 11.2 billion in 2020.
