CareAR became a holding company under the auspices of Xerox and received US$10 million from ServiceNow

CareAR

Xerox Holdings announced the creation of an independent legal entity under its control, CareAR Holdings, which will merge the CareAR, DocuShare and XMPie projects. At the same time, CareAR, a startup that was acquired by Xerox earlier to provide augmented reality support for corporate employees, raised $10 million in funding from ServiceNow. CareAR is now estimated to be worth approximately US$700 million.

CareAR Holdings will be led by Steven Bandrowczak, president and chief operating officer of Xerox, who will become chairman of the board, while startup founder Sam Waicberg will take over as president of the new structure.

Judging from the official announcement of the name and reorganization of CareAR Holdings, the company’s foundation will be the augmented reality technology CareAR. Xerox purchased it in February 2021 and immediately integrated the product with ServiceNow field service management.

Project representatives believe that integration with DocuShare content management system, XMPie cross-media platform and PARC Alto AI artificial intelligence mechanism will help solve some sustainable development and personal goals:

  • Information support tasks to reduce operating costs and greenhouse gas emissions;
  • Tasks to reduce the retirement risk of personnel, including the impossibility of further relying on professional training and the need to train new personnel, taking into account their replacement;
  • The task of promoting remote preventive and maintenance measures to reduce the number and duration of technical experts’ business trips.
