SALT LAKE CITY-(BUSINESS WIRE)-The Customer Education Management Association (CEdMA) today announced that ServiceNow, a digital workflow provider, will be the recipient of the 2022 CEdMA Innovation Award for their innovative Certified Technical Architect (CTA) offering on the program.
The CEdMA Innovation Award aims to recognize a CEdMA member company that has taken an innovative approach to solve a problem or address an opportunity. The Innovation Award selects a high-tech company or individual for outstanding-only change in business education methods or practices in a project completed within the last twelve to eighteen months.
“We are extremely proud that our Expert Programs team has challenged themselves to rethink how we deliver high-value collaborative experiences to our top ServiceNow architects. Their results are impressive. By using a flipped-classroom approach and placing an emphasis on cohort-style learning we have seen large increases in both student engagement and success. This experience is supported by a user-friendly, collaborative learning platform with backend automation to simplify management and allow integration into our Now Platform-based Now Learning experience. ”-William Giammona, Senior Director, Training Engagement and Recognition, ServiceNow
Milind Gurjar, CEdMA Board President, commented: “IT professionals need to learn to speak business language in order to effectively deliver business results using digital transformation programs. Deep technical skills combined with effective collaboration and communication skills are essential to be a trusted advisor in the C-suite. The Certified Technical Service Architect Today program does a great job of developing this combination of skills through a cohort-based learning program that is innovative and effective. ”
As a fast -growing company, ServiceNow is determined to respond to customer requests for change results. The need for a new type of consultant has been identified-a consultant who can “deepen” into details with technical managers, but can also stay at a high level to prioritize business and discuss positioning in the C-Suite . The Training and Certification Organization at ServiceNow needed to develop a program that placed equal focus on both soft and technical skills. To meet the need, the Certified Technical Architect (CTA) program was created. The team researched and identified the Intrepid platform as their choice to develop and deliver this new program.
The program is designed to support the following anim columns:
-
A pane of glass-users have one place to go for all their learning
-
Reverse classroom approach-access to self-paced learning modules, small group meetings and assignments, quizzes
-
Progress motivation and tracking-provide real-time access to user progress in the program, and leadership points and functions to increase student engagement
-
Communication automation-automatic notification of upcoming events and assignments, discussion posts, scores
-
Automated rubrics-functionality that enables rubric configuration and the automation of score collection and reporting
-
Measurable collaboration – team video submissions, peer review and automated assignment review and tracking
The first public cohort was launched in October of 2021 and it was considered a success because the results met or exceeded expectations.
-
Student evaluations increased from an average of 3.48 to an average of 3.8 (on a 4-point scale)
-
Increased on-time completion of assignments
-
Initial pass rates for the capstone increased from 62% to 78.5%
-
Delivery Managers commented on the reduced administrative overhead
-
Increased performance feedback for students from peer reviews
-
Increased student engagement as tracked on scores and leaderboards
ServiceNow’s innovation demonstrated the creation of a professional focused on both soft and technical skills, and made it through a cohort-based program. Combining all of these ideas into one program is not uncommon in corporate technical education programs.
ServiceNow will showcase their innovation at the CEdMA 2022 Conference later this year.
