Deloitte Consulting acquires Dutch ServiceNow expert Odysseus

In its second acquisition in the Netherlands this year, Deloitte acquired Odysseus, a company with 30 employees that specializes in designing and implementing ServiceNow solutions.

Odysseus will be integrated into Deloitte’s consulting business, especially in the technical department. Ronald Krabben, head of Deloitte Consulting’s technology business, said: “We are proud to be one of the market leaders for ServiceNow in the Netherlands, and ServiceNow is one of the fastest growing platforms.”

ServiceNow is a US$5 billion company headquartered in the United States. It is a platform and solution provider that helps companies digitize their business operations workflow. Deloitte is ServiceNow’s global consulting partner and is used by clients to help them improve information technology, employees, risks, customers, and other workflows.

“Deloitte Consulting helps organizations transform into a digital enterprise. As one of our strategic alliances, ServiceNow plays a key role in this journey with its leading digital workflow platform,” Krabben explained.

Krabben stated that the Odysseus team will add “supplemental skills” to its existing ServiceNow team, which means that Deloitte will be “more capable than ever to provide our customers with a full range of ServiceNow services.” After the closure, Deloitte’s ServiceNow service line has more than 60 consultants.

In addition to ServiceNow expertise and certifications, Odysseus has deepened Deloitte’s capabilities “with their extensive experience in IT business management, agility, DevOps, and project portfolio management.”

Erik Nanninga, owner of Deloitte Consulting in the Netherlands, commented: “Leading digital companies are using numbers to delight customers, inspire new business models and reshape their operations. Together with Odysseus, we are strengthening our commitment to help our customers. Achieve these results.”

At the same time, for Odysseus, this move ended his 22 years of independence. However, in return, the company and its employees will be able to benefit from “Deloitte’s market leadership capabilities,” said Sander Treur, the former owner of Odysseus and now a partner at Deloitte Consulting. “We can now have a greater impact on our clients’ transformation agenda.”

Earlier this year, Deloitte’s Dutch branch acquired Iperion’s life science consulting business, adding approximately 40 consultants to its staff. Recent transactions in the Netherlands include Pervorm (2019), Boer & Croon Corporate Finance (2018) and AEPEX Business Consultants (2018).

Deloitte is the largest of the four giants in the Netherlands, with revenues of slightly more than 1 billion euros.
