Deloitte Consulting acquires ServiceNow expert Odysseus

Deloitte acquired Odysseus, a 30-person company specializing in the design and implementation of ServiceNow solutions. This transaction marks Deloitte’s second acquisition this year.

Odysseus will be placed in Deloitte’s consulting business, especially in the technical department. Ronald Krabben, head of technology business at Deloitte Consulting, said: “We are proud to be one of the leaders in the ServiceNow service market in the Netherlands, and ServiceNow is one of the fastest growing platforms.”

ServiceNow is a platform and solution provider that enables companies to digitize their work processes. ServiceNow is headquartered in the United States and the company’s market value is approximately US$5 billion. Deloitte is a global consulting partner of ServiceNow, commissioned by clients to improve IT, staff, risk, and client processes/workflows.
“Deloitte Consulting helps organizations transform into a digital enterprise. As one of our strategic partners, ServiceNow, with its industry-leading digital workflow platform, plays a key role in this process,” Krabben explained.

Krabben said that the Odysseus team will add “supplemental skills” to the existing ServiceNow team, which means that Deloitte will “provide our customers with a full range of ServiceNow services better than ever before.” After the transaction is completed, Deloitte’s ServiceNow service line will include more than 60 consultants.

Strengthen the ability

In addition to ServiceNow expertise and certification, the addition of Odysseus will enable Deloitte to strengthen its capabilities through ServiceNow’s “extensive experience in IT business management, agility, DevOps, and portfolio management.”

Erik Nanninga, Head of Consulting at Deloitte in the Netherlands, said: “Leading digital companies are using digital technology to delight customers, develop new business models and reshape their operations. Together with Odysseus, we strengthen our commitment to helping customers achieve these results.”

For Odysseus, the deal ended 22 years of independence. In return, the office and its employees can now take advantage of “Deloitte’s leading market capabilities,” said Sander Treur, the former owner of Odysseus and now a partner at Deloitte Consulting. “We can now have a greater impact on our clients’ transformation agenda.”

Earlier this year, Deloitte Holland acquired Iperion’s life science consulting business, adding approximately 40 consultants to its workforce. Recent transactions in the Netherlands include the acquisition of Pervorm (2019), Boer & Croon Corporate Finance (2018) and AEPEX Business Consultants (2018).

Deloitte is the four largest offices in the Netherlands, with a turnover of slightly more than 1 billion euros.
