Recently, Flexera and IBM announced an exciting and strategic partnership. I want to expand on what this partnership means from my perspective. There are two related facets to the partnership:
- The Flexera One ITAM is a certified alternative IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT)
- Integration between Flexera One ITAM and IBM Turbonomic to optimize AI-powered cost and performance
For years, Flexera has asked the largest software and technology suppliers to make management easier to use and stay in compliance.
You’ll be hard pressed to find a more dysfunctional supply chain in any other industry than what exists in software and technology. What other supply chain provides limited to no assistance to their customers in tracking consumption … and then regularly reviewing them?
Software and technology suppliers do not provide enough visibility to help enterprise customers manage licenses, inventory or costs in the cloud. As difficult as licensing compliance is in data center applications, the problem grows sharply as the market deploys more technology in the cloud and hybrid licensing has become commonplace.
Flexera believes it is a bold and proactive step for IBM to recognize this challenge and work with Flexera.
Flexera One ITAM Certification
As part of the agreement, Flexera and IBM is working together to prove the Flexera One reporting at Flexera enrichment Isacontent libraries to give more comprehensive IBM product recognition. This is a huge advantage for our customers – they can now use the Flexera One ITAM sa achieve two susi purpose: tomeet IBM’s reporting requirements AT optimize spending and risk for IBM and other strategic vendors like Microsoft, SAP, Oracle, SalesforceService Today etc.
By accepting Flexera, IBM recognizes a market reality: enterprise customers want a platform to manage their technology assets, consumption levels and rights across their property, not many tools from many suppliers.
For decades Flexera has operated on the connection where technology suppliers (e.g., IBM, SAP, Oracle, ServiceNow, Microsoft, Salesforce) and their customers (you) meet. As an independent and trusted third party, our goal has always been, and will remain, to deliver consumption and rights data that allows our customers to be equal (or better) with their suppliers during negotiations. in ELA.
As the cloud becomes more prevalent, hybrid IT optimization will become important and your spending levels on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and other public cloud providers should be taken into account in the way you manage tech spending. Our strong but unbiased relationship with IBM is a big step in helping you manage a very complex side of spending and risk.
The agreement with IBM is centered solely on Flexera’s SaaS offering. Over the past four years, we have spent a lot of resources modernizing our offer to become a multi-tenanted, SOC3-compliant, microservices- and API-driven architecture that allows you to scale and integrate with ITSM, Ariba, Coupa, Tanium and other technologies that are fundamental to your business.
As you’d expect from any world-class SaaS provider, your data isn’t just secure — it’s YOUR data. Unless you specifically authorize, Flexera will never share license positions, usage or any other data with IBM. Permission must come through your agreements with IBM.
Flexera One and IBM Turbonomic Integration
The integration of the Flexera One with Turbonomic is also exciting because we automate the challenges you face in competing for global talent. As attrition and salary rise, each of us is faced with an unprecedented challenge that remains in the full capacity of the staff. One way to avoid incremental staffing costs is to implement a SaaS offering such as Flexera One. The other way to meet resource constraints is by automating as much as possible. Many of our existing customers are excited about Flexera’s data-specific technology that brings together AI-driven resource management forces from IBM. The integration is a great fit with Gartner’s concept of Digital Platform Conductor Tools as the innovative model to strategically help customers manage their digital infrastructure and apps in an agile, yet managed and risk -aware manner.
The integrated solution provides unprecedented management in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Now you can optimize for the same resource performance at licensing costs. Flexera’s consumption intelligence is unsurpassed; this is one of the main reasons why IBM chose us as a partner. We unlock the ability to deliver truly resilient environments while ensuring a functional balance with cost optimization and risk reduction.
Innovation for Hybrid IT Optimization
We hear you out loud and clear: managing and optimizing a hybrid IT environment is challenging and we’re working on innovative ways to solve those challenges. I am proud of the endorsement from IBM in building this partnership, and the fact that it will lead to immediate value and further planned change for our customers. Working with your ecosystem vendors such as IBM is a good example of our strategy to align you with your key suppliers. The business result of maximizing the value of your technology is our only mission.
