The tech nonprofit startup accelerator selects a global team of organizations producing tech solutions for Black youth, asylum seekers, the LGBTQ+ community, and more.

SAN FRANCISCO , March 29, 2022 / PRNewswire/ – Fast Forwardthe organization that provides tech nonprofits with funding and support to maximize impact, announces a $ 4.6M rounding of funding for its 9th Startup Accelerator. This capital infusion empowers Fast Forward to support nine organizations developing tech products that promote racial justice, education, labor development, and more, as well as expand those initiative on the growth of its ecosystem.

The round was led by Google.org, BlackRock, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Foundation, Bloomberg, Okta, ServiceNow, Dell Technologies, Twilio.org, CTIA Wireless Foundation, Deloitte, DigitalOcean, Splunk Inc., New Relic, The Walter and Elise Haas Fund , and The Nasiri Foundation. Fast Forward’s corporate partnerships yield more than just financial support, connecting tech nonprofits with invaluable product opportunities and expert tech advisors.

This group of tech nonprofits is making a global impact. The nine organizations are headquartered in the US, UK, Indiaat Ghana. Fast Forward’s continued focus is on entrepreneurs with lived experience, 100% of organizations have a founder who has lived experience with the problem, 78% have a founder who is a person of color, and 67% have a founder who is a woman.

Since 2014, Fast Forward’s 70 Accelerator alumni have been positively impacted 105M alive and raised $ 357M in subsequent funding. The Fast Forward 9th Accelerator cohort includes:

  • Gramhal: Chatbot connects farmers in rural India with data to increase agency and revenue
  • Stuttering Scholarship Alliance: The digital platform that makes speech therapy affordable and accessible for people who stutter
  • Unlocked Labs: Offline education software that unlocks Pell Grants and college degrees for incarcerated people
  • Eligible Mentoring: App that facilitates trusted mentorship within the LGBTQ+ community
  • Provided by African Women’s Achievements: Digital community for the advancement of Black women in college in STEM
