Jonathan Alboum Principal Data Strategist ServiceNow

Jonathan Alboum, chief digital strategist of ServiceNow, told Government Matters in an interview posted Tuesday that federal agencies should make sure they have the right networks, software and software programs to manage hardware assets and other tools in place to continue to support maximum telework.

He said the COVID-19 pandemic prompted agencies to change and optimize processes to work in a digital way and noted the need for agencies to ensure that the “mission can be delivered to under any circumstances. “

“I think, again, we recognize that telework is more than just connecting to systems. It’s about having digital workflows and digitally changing processes so that work can really be done anywhere without compromising performance or … service to people who depend on our agencies, “he said.

Alboum said he believes agencies should move to complete and total digitize key processes.

“The future is different in my opinion,” Alboum said. “The future is an optimized, fully digital process that operates on the schedule of the citizen, that customer of that agency, and not on the schedule of agency operating hours.”

He also shared his thoughts on the Pandemic Federal Telework Act introduced in the Senate and the potential transition of agencies to a hybrid job setup.
