IIT Patna Placement 2022: Maximum CTC At Rs 61.30 Lakh Per Year;  72.38 Percent Increase in Job Offers

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna witnessed the best placement season and recorded a big spike in placement offers this year. IIT Patna’s 11th placement season is unique as it recorded the highest number of job offers, highest domestic pay package, highest average package and highest number of pre-placement offer ever. The institute, this year, received 412 job offers making a drastic increase of 72.38 percent compared to 239 job offers last year.

The list also includes 10 international offers extended by Accenture Japan, Amazon Berlin, Google Munich, Amazon Luxembourg, Square Point Capital London and Google London.

“This year’s placement drives have been very successful and record setters. Approximately 154 companies including IT/Software, Finance and Banking, Analytics and consulting, basic engineering, E-commerce, healthcare, manufacturing, automotive etc. extended 412 job offers in the 2022 batch, ”IIT Patna said in a statement.

The placement of IIT Patna has seen a steady increase in the average package as compared to the previous academic year. BTech’s average salary with an impressive jump of 68.47 per cent, reached Rs 28.86 lakh in 2022 from Rs 17.13 lakh in 2021. Similarly, MTech’s average salary also reached Rs 14.99 lakh in 2022 from at Rs 12.22 highest in The domestic. The pay package offered was Rs 61.30 lakh and was followed by Rs 57.40 lakh to the students of the 2022 batch.

The institute has seen a significant jump in pre-placement offers extended to students in recent years. In 2021-22, IIT Patna students received 50 PPO (pre placement offers), while it was 25 in 2020-21, which is 100 per cent higher as compared to the previous session.

In terms of placement percentage, BTech Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering recorded 100 percent placement each and Chemical engineering 82.35 percent and civil engineering 77.27 percent.

BTech’s total placement percentage was 96.19 percent. Similarly, in MTech Computer Science and Engineering, Mathematics and Computing, the VLSI / Embedded system and Mechanical Engineering recorded 100 percent placements and other streams performed well in terms of placement percentage. In total, the MTech batch of 2022, recorded 86.81 percent placement this year.

The 2022 batch achieved another impressive success by capturing 6 international offers of BTech students through the off-campus recruitment process with a pay package of over one crore. Google London extends one of IIT Patna students pay package of Rs 1.37 crore, Google Munich extends to another student luxury fee of Rs 1.31 crore, Amazon Berlin offers pay package of Rs 1.20 crore to 3 students and Amazon Luxemburg has extended the fatty pay package to Rs 1 crore to 1 student of IIT Patna.

Recruiting firms from the IT/software domain dominated the list with 45 percent of its share followed by analytics/consulting 13 percent, EdTech 9 percent, FinTech 7 percent, research and development 4 percent, E-Commerce 5 percent , semiconductor 3 percent, core engineering 3 percent, manufacturing 3 percent and so on includes 5 percent. A large number of start-ups (around 46) from growth to the established stage have been attracted by the institute for on-campus placements.

This season more than 40 new companies participated in campus recruitment for the first time including Qualcomm, Plutus Research, HDFC, ICICI Bank, RBL Bank, Yugabyte, Servicenow, in fact, Dhani, Husing.com, Flipkart, Zomato, Paytm , Tata Electronics, Sears, Tata Digital are a few of them.

The job profiles offered are from software engineer, hardware engineer, application engineer, product engineer, data scientist, digital consultant, infrastructure manager, analyst, machine learning engineer, digital engineer, decision analyst, consulting management trainee, GET, PGET etc.

The list of top recruiters of the season includes Google, Oracle, MTX, sprinklr, dhani, Atlassian, optum, Bosch, media.net, gameskraft, smart coin, TVS, Aarti Industries, HDFC, RBL etc. along with some of the top PSUs like BPCL, BEL and CDAC also recruited students from the 2022 batch.
