In summer, large-scale exercises will not slow down. Microsoft, which has increased its acquisitions in recent weeks, is investing in Rubrik and its intelligent management of secondary storage. ServiceNow shopped in France and acquired Mapwize.
After acquiring Peer5 (video stream optimization), RisqIQ (multi-cloud security) and CloudKnox (cloud infrastructure authorization management), Microsoft is completing its strategy by acquiring shares in Rubrik, which is the “next generation” of backup and cloud data management. This new partnership aims to integrate Rubrik’s zero-trust data protection solution with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, especially to help them better respond to the threat of ransomware.
In particular, Rubrik will provide companies running Microsoft 365 with the ability to extend their data protection with its instant search and fast recovery capabilities. In addition to this cooperation, Microsoft will also invest in Rubrik to accelerate the joint development and integration of Rubrik technology on its cloud infrastructure. A way to strengthen the long-term relationship between the two companies that have more than 2,000 joint client companies representing hundreds of petabytes of data hosted on Azure.
In a very different field, we also learned that the leader of ITSM ServiceNow is acquiring the Lille startup Mapwize. This acquisition allows ServiceNow to strengthen one of its new areas of development: facility management. The Mapwize solution is especially used to map buildings, so it can be used as a visual interface for booking offices and meeting rooms, for example, while helping visitors, service providers, and maintenance agents find their routes on site more easily. It will enrich the workplace space mapping function called the core of the facility management solution for workplace service delivery.
