Microsoft announced its plans to launch a new Advanced Management Suite in March 2023. The cloud-based Microsoft Intune Premium Suite is a cost-effective premium endpoint management plan, which will include Endpoint Privilege Management, Remote Help, Microsoft Tunnel for Mobile App Management as well as advanced endpoint analytics capabilities, with support for more features to be added in the coming months.
“The capabilities delivered within the Intune Premium Suite will enable organizations to centralize and consolidate the tools they use to provide remote assistance, removing the risks of local admin users , support a BYOD device model with secure access for unenrolled mobile devices, improve the health and performance of Windows endpoints, and reduce the complexity and effort of deployments and app update,” the company explained.
Remote Help for Windows and Android
Microsoft Intune Premium Suite will improve the Remote Help solution launched on Windows in April. This includes a new ServiceNow integration, improved compliance messaging, improved elevation, and support for Android devices. This release will also allow IT admins to hear audio from the employee while providing remote assistance.
Microsoft Endpoint Privilege Management
In early 2023, Microsoft is also introducing a new Endpoint privilege management solution in public preview. The service will automatically manage and elevate users’ standard permissions to admin status to let them perform specific tasks on Windows cloud-connected and co-managed endpoints.
For example, employees can install applications, printers, and other peripheral devices. Microsoft Endpoint privilege management will be available as an add-on for existing Intune subscribers and as part of the Intune Premium Suite.
Microsoft Tunnel for Mobile Application Management
Microsoft Tunnel for mobile application management (MAM) will let users securely access on-prem apps and resources on their unmanaged Android and iOS devices. This capability will eliminate the need for device registration and help to reduce costs. Microsoft Tunnel for MAM will be available as an add-on for existing customers in January, and will also be included in the Intune Premium Suite in March 2023.
Advanced Endpoint Management Analytics
Microsoft is adding some new advanced analytics capabilities to its Intune Premium Suite, including anomaly detection. The feature will use AI to automatically notify IT admins of potential problems, such as hardware failures, app crashes, unexpected reboots, and more. Anomaly detection can help administrators proactively mitigate critical issues that could disrupt operations.
Last but not least, Microsoft Intune Premium Suite will let IT admins manage, configure, and protect specialized devices such as RealWear. The service will also bring a comprehensive catalog of apps and make it easier for administrators to automatically patch third-party apps.
Going forward, Microsoft plans to add support for multiple managed accounts to let employees use a single device in different organizations. Intune Premium Suite will also get advanced cloud certificate management support, though there’s no ETA yet.
Microsoft’s new Advanced Management Suite will be available for all enterprise customers with a Microsoft Intune subscription (including Microsoft 365 E3 and E5). The company recommends organizations contact Microsoft partners to assess their specific business needs.
