Qualys, Inc. (NASDAQ: QLYS), a pioneer and leading provider of highly innovative cloud-based security and compliance IT solutions, has signed an agreement to acquire TotalCloud, a cloud-based workflow Management and no-code automation platform.

After the completion of this acquisition, Qualys will further strengthen its cloud security solutions, allowing customers to create user-defined workflows based on custom policies, execute them on demand, and ensure further simplification of security and compliance. To implement a workflow in a multi-cloud environment, users only need to activate the “drag and drop” function on the component block to build any operational process and achieve specific outputs, such as compliance checks or specific remedial activities…

Sumedh Thakar, President and CEO of Qualys, said: “As the adoption of cloud technology accelerates, organizations are looking for ways to simplify cloud security visibility and remediation through workflows that are easy to automate. “The acquisition of TotalCloud will bring visual cloud remediation workflow technology. Bringing into the Qualys cloud platform emphasizes our continuous innovation in cloud security. “

Due to the massive growth and heterogeneous functions of APIs involved in a multi-cloud environment, it is difficult for customers to achieve appropriate automation to control security, usage, inventory management, and repair. TotalCloud technology will allow Qualys customers to design cloud workflows so that they can easily:

  • • Automate daily tasks, from simple asset tagging to complex scenarios involving multiple cloud services and operations, such as generating alerts when virtual machine instances have public IP addresses, excessive permissions, and exploitable vulnerabilities.
  • • Integrate existing tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, and Splunk into cloud workflows to automate alerts, change management, asset tagging, analysis, and more.
  • • Trigger actions in various Qualys applications, such as automatically launching a vulnerability scan when a new virtual machine instance is detected.

“We are very happy to welcome TotalCloud employees, including founder Pradeep Kumar, to our Qualys family,” Thakar concluded.
