Palo Alto Networks launched Prisma SASE, which combines Prisma Access and Prisma SD-WAN into an integrated cloud service with network security and SD-WAN (software-defined WAN) capabilities.
Prisma SASE combines Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Cloud Security Web Gateway (SWG), Cloud Access Security Proxy (CASB), Firewall as a Service (FWaaS) and SD-WAN in one solution. The bundled SKU is designed to make it easier for companies to obtain SASE services.
The new ION 1200 SD-WAN device with integrated 5G is designed to provide companies with the option of providing 5G-WAN connectivity to branch networks as part of the Prisma SASE solution. The device supports active/active 5G WAN interfaces for carrier redundancy.
The integrated Cloud Secure Web Gateway comes with a newly designed configuration workflow. This aims to promote the definition of cybersecurity rules using pre-defined recommendations and continuous evaluation.
There are also new CloudBlades integrations, including ServiceNow, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom. CloudBlades is Palo Alto’s platform for integrating cloud services into Prisma solutions through APIs.
Finally, according to Palo Alto, they provide “autonomous digital experience management.” This helps to gain insights into the performance of the cloud infrastructure, application performance, and user traffic.
