ServiceNow adds APM module to its ITBM suite

ServiceNow

The next update of ServiceNow’s IT Business Management (ITBM) platform is expected to take place in December 2016. It will introduce an application portfolio management (APM) module to improve application management.

After the NowForum event held in Paris on October 4, 820 people (customers and partners) gathered 600 people last year. We met Christophe Bouchardeau, vice president of the French region at ServiceNow, to evaluate IT business management and upcoming updates (December 2016) Called Istanbul. The publisher’s SaaS or PaaS solution makes it possible to manage IT services and business services in the cloud. The publisher offers two evolutions a year-compared to its rival Salesforce, which can evolve twice a year, and customers can postpone it twice-a year and half-before switching to the release. “French customers are always very careful and would rather wait a little bit before the first update. However, once they do this, there is no problem-even if there is a specific development, the customer will not wander about for the next one.” Explained Matthieu de Montvallon, the solution consultant manager.

One of the main innovations of the Istanbul version is the introduction of the APM (Application Portfolio Manager) function in the publisher’s ITBM suite to monitor and control the spread of software. The idea is to link every module of the company (tests, project plans, requirements, ideas and even investment portfolios) without integration, in order to rationalize the management of software and services (audit, documentation, registration…), and obtain The cost method is about these applications in ServiceNow. “It is possible to evaluate the impact of each modification of the application on the IT system-whether to delete, change or update the application-taking into account the development request (PPM) and the management budget of the aspect,” Matthieu de Montvallon told us. “This APM module (an activity repository connected to the ServiceNow tool) complements the publisher’s PPM and financial management modules (such as fleet management) to measure server and VM usage.

Istanbul has also brought new developments in financial management and human resources, especially with the arrival of human resources priorities to improve planning capabilities. Another improvement in Istanbul is that BtoB has had a CSM update for a year. “Today, we also provide more customer support for BtoC,” Christophe Bouchardeau told us.
