ServiceNow announced that it has agreed to acquire Seattle-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) management leader VendorHawk in an all-cash transaction, which is expected to be completed this month. With the help of VendorHawk, ServiceNow is rapidly expanding its software usage capabilities to help customers achieve digital transformation by providing transparency in the use of software licenses and costs.

Millions of dollars are spent on underutilized software, and CIOs spend time worrying about how to minimize the risk of software compliance audits. As the company modernizes its software infrastructure, the ability to manage local and SaaS assets is a key element of a successful digital transformation. As the cloud software flow continues to grow, SaaS subscriptions can quickly overwhelm organizations, often bypassing the company’s IT organization.

VendorHawk’s cloud solutions help customers discover, rationalize and optimize SaaS subscriptions across the organization. VendorHawk provides extensive support for more than 36,000 SaaS applications to discover expenditures and map outdated applications. VendorHawk also analyzed the usage of top applications such as Salesforce, Box, and Google G-Suite and optimized SaaS subscriptions.

The addition of VendorHawk’s deep expertise in managing SaaS usage and redundancy enhances current ServiceNow software asset management products and opens up new functions for SaaS spending and supplier management. VendorHawk will be added to the Now platform and provided as part of the ServiceNow software asset management release in 2019.

“Adding the functionality of VendorHawk to our software asset management services enhances the unique value of ServiceNow, integrating basic functions into a single integrated platform, and significantly improving efficiency while continuing to support the employee experience,” General Manager Farrell Hough Say. Serve immediately. “Real-time viewing of all software inventory is critical for our customers to consciously rationalize and optimize software expenditures as they undergo digital transformation.”

“We are focused on providing the ability to discover and manage thousands of instances of SaaS assets in an organization,” said Patrick Lowndes, CEO of VendorHawk. “By adding this functionality to their comprehensive platform, ServiceNow continues to create tremendous value for their customers and provide a SaaS view that leads to action.”
