New integration enables security operations teams to better fight cyber attacks in an increasingly complex threat environment

Frankfurt-May 21, 2021- Knowledge 2021: ServiceNow (NYSE: NOW) announced a new strategic integration with Microsoft in the field of security operations to expand existing partnerships. This announcement is part of Knowledge 2021, which is ServiceNow’s most important digital event for its customers, partners, and developer communities. New integrations in the ServiceNow Security Operations Solution Suite include Microsoft Azure Sentinel, Microsoft Threat & Vulnerability Management, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft SharePoint. The enhanced features enable the security operations team to make better decisions in the areas of security planning, management, and incident response.

During the Covid-19 pandemic last year, cyber attacks against businesses, organizations, and critical infrastructure have increased dramatically. Facts have proved that heterogeneous independent security solutions are not successful in helping security teams effectively identify, investigate, and respond to the ever-increasing number of security threats. Not only will this increase time and resources, but it will also turn the incident into a widespread security threat.

According to Gartner, “The threats and attack surfaces that must be addressed in security operations are increasing with the use of cloud services (such as SaaS and cloud infrastructure and platform services), and the network in the OT/industrial control system (ICS) environment becomes more More and more and with them increases the distribution of employees.”[1] With a single platform, data model, and architecture, Now Platform breaks the silos created by solutions that cannot work together. Integration with Microsoft’s new security operations is now a step further.

“Nearly 80% of Fortune 500 companies trust ServiceNow’s’platform platform’,” said Lou Fiorello, Vice President and General Manager of ServiceNow Security Products“More and more customers are aware of the value of implementing secure operating procedures on the platform, leveraging the corporate environment, and automating the entire company’s workflow in real time. The powerful new integration announced today combines Microsoft’s security products with ServiceNow’s security The operating ecosystem connects and provides the security team with the context they need to prioritize and respond to security incidents faster and more effectively than ever before.”

“In a world increasingly threatened by danger, the only real competitors are criminals and opponents of the nation-state,” explained Eric Doerr, Vice President of Cloud Security, Microsoft“Our integration with Microsoft security solutions and ServiceNow security operations products enables customers to gain system-wide visibility, automate security workflows, and quickly respond to incidents, thereby creating a safer world for everyone.”

Make informed decisions in security planning and management and incident response

If companies adapt to mixed working methods, they can save millions of dollars through fully implemented automated security solutions. For example, healthcare organizations that use ServiceNow Security Operations saved $2.4 million in three years.[2] The integration of Microsoft Azure Sentinel and ServiceNow Security Incident Response (SIR) facilitates the automatic exchange of expertise and evidence, as well as early identification of security incidents and preventing them from affecting customers.

By using a central platform for detection and action, the entire process from investigation and management to response is simplified, and the burden on the security operation team is minimized. It also reduces potential errors by automating and orchestrating end-to-end workflows in response to events. This approach provides critical information to the security operations team through an expanded view of the company’s security status. This can speed up the investigation of security threats and shorten the overall response time.

“Covid is causing more and more people to switch to the cloud. We found that Microsoft Azure Sentinel and customers in all industries that need cloud-native SIEM to support remote employees while improving security are performing well,” he said Edgile Risk and Security Practice Partner Brian Rizman“Our customers view ServiceNow Security Incident Response as a strategic platform that enables scalable data and workflow bridges to connect to security, risk, and IT tools. As a long-term partner of Microsoft and ServiceNow, we assume these two The integration of the world will lead to better operational reliability and greater cost savings.”
