Executive compensation hit new levels last year, with 12 of the highest paid CEOs each earning more than $ 100 million in compensation in 2021.
According to consulting firm Equilar’s survey of the 200 highest paid CEOs, the average pay of executives with the highest pay in 200 large firms is a record-breaking $ 330 million.
The survey shows that median executive compensation increased 27 percent, from $ 25.3 million in 2020 to $ 32.1 million in 2021. Median compensation was higher than in the prepandemic year.
