The ThoughtSpot-Matillion partnership unlocks value in enterprise data

To further strengthen our commitment to providing industry -leading data technology coverage, VentureBeat is excited to accept Andrew Brust and Tony Baer as regular contributors. Watch their articles on the Data Pipeline.

There is a disconnect between data availability and business agility. Companies have a hard time converting data into insights and then turning those insights into action.

The data pipelines developed over the past decade are not enough for modern businesses in terms of agility, flexibility and intuitiveness. You must manually extract, prepare and clean up data to move it to the cloud, a time-consuming and complicated process.

Cloud platforms can be difficult to use for data analysis once it has been migrated. Some require extreme specialization to gain insights. Data groups require rapid ingestion, modification, and analysis capabilities to meet business needs.

Collaboration of ThoughtSpot and Matillion

Now, data teams working in the cloud can gain real-time insights in minutes, according to ThoughtSpot and Matillion, which just announced a collaborative partnership focused on these issues.

Matillion’s cloud data integration technology provides data model templates to help companies efficiently navigate their data. SpotApps, prebuilt solutions from ThoughtSpot designed for specific situations, can now use Matillion’s data processing technology. The companies believe the combination will speed up valuation time and give more individuals access to data across the enterprise.

Matillion and ThoughtSpot said their partnership will help data engineers focus on more complex data projects by reducing the time needed to create data pipelines and launch new analytics scenarios. This will help business users access data more easily and data engineers focus on more complex data projects.

Matillion’s ELT templates-based on no code/low code technology-extract, migrate and transform data from a range of data sources into a cloud-native pipeline platform. Then, with ThoughtSpot, users can analyze data through search and artificial intelligence.

How does this work

Once data is transferred to the cloud, it can be prepared for analytics quickly by Matillion. With ThoughtSpot, SpotApps can be set up, running with new Live Analytics usage scenarios, once data becomes available.

Worksheets, tables and Liveboards available in ThoughtSpot Modeling Language (TML) allow users to get up and run with popular SaaS applications including ServiceNow, HubSpot, Okta, Google Analytics and more.

“Before building our modern data stack in Matillion, Snowflake and ThoughtSpot, Sargento spent a lot of time preparing data and manually reporting in Excel. We started with a mission to find the best breed of cloud-first analytics solution to get the most business value from the massive amount of data in front of us, ”explains Travis Lehn, senior manager of Data & Analytics at Sargento Foods , Inc. “After a rigorous selection process, we ultimately selected a stack that measures analytics in our business and provides self-service capabilities to our diverse user base.”

“Today’s modern data team must manage the maintenance, transfer, and preparation of data to perform analytics. Low-code and no-code templates speed up the time of insights, ”said Naggi Asmar, Chief Engineering Officer at Matillion. “Now, data teams can focus on innovation to use data for advanced use cases and advance the business, rather than gaining access to data in the data warehouse.”
