The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service is accepting applications for grant programs that support wood products and wood energy innovation

The US Department of Agriculture Forest Service announced that it is currently accepting applications for the 2021 Timber Innovation Grant and the 2021 Community Timber Energy and Timber Innovation Grant, amounting to approximately US$10 million. These grants are designed to support local economies through wood products and wood energy innovations, while reducing harmful fuels and improving forest health.

Vicki Christiansen, Director of Forest Services, said: “The healthy and productive market for wood products and wood energy is essential to support sustainable management and improve the condition of our country’s forest land.” “We can enhance the health and resilience of public and private forests while promoting Innovate and enhance the economic opportunities surrounding wood products.”

Wood Innovation Award The program has a long track record of success and is committed to strengthening emerging markets for innovative wood products such as bulk wood and cross-laminated wood.
