CapitalCIO has announced the winners of its 2022 CIO of the Year® ORBIE® Awards. CapitalCIO recognizes chief information officers in six key categories – Leadership, Global, Large Enterprise, Enterprise, Large Corporate, & Corporate. The Capital CIO ORBIE Awards were presented at the Hilton Mclean Tysons Corner.
“Every organization relies on technology, but strong leadership is the X-factor that can turn routine, transactional IT into a transformational and strategic differentiator,” said Kristie Grinnell, CapitalCIO Chair. “The ORBIE Awards are significant because they are judged by peers – CIOs who understand the challenges of technology leadership.”
The 2022 Capital CIO ORBIE Award winners are:
›› Jim Scholefield, Chief Information and Digital Officer at Marriott International received the Leadership ORBIE.
›› Andrew Gastwirth, Chief Innovation Officer, DLA Piper received the Global ORBIE for organizations over $1 billion in annual revenue and multi-national operations.
›› Ann Dunkin, CIO, United States Department of Energy received the Large Enterprise ORBIE for organizations over $2.8 billion in annual revenue.
›› Matt MacVey, EVP and CIO, Children’s National Hospital received the Enterprise ORBIE for organizations over $1 billion in annual revenue.
›› Lisa Roger, CIO, Dewberry received the Large Corporate ORBIE for organizations over $500 million in annual revenue.
›› Sandeep Uthra, EVP & CIO, Capital Bank NA received the Corporate ORBIE for organizations up to $500 million in annual revenue.
The CIO of the Year ORBIE Awards is the leading technology executive recognition program in the United States. Since its inception in 1998, more than 500 CIO of the Year winners have received the prestigious ORBIE Award. ORBIE honors chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership. Finalists and winners are selected through an independent peer review process, led by previous ORBIE recipients, based on:
