MichiganCIO has announced the winners of its 2022 CIO of the Year® ORBIE® Awards. MichiganCIO recognizes chief information officers in six main categories – Super Global, Global, Large Enterprise, Enterprise, Corporate, and Healthcare. The awards were presented at the Michigan CIO ORBIE Awards at The Henry.
“Every business is a digital business, and having inclusive, empathetic leadership is the X-factor that can elevate IT to a remarkable strategic differentiator,” said Ravi Pendse, MichiganCIO Chair. “The ORBIE Awards are significant because they are judged by peers – CIOs who understand the challenges of technology leadership.”
The 2022 Michigan CIO ORBIE Award winners are:
›› Dr. Ravi Pendse, VP of IT and CIO, University of Michigan received the Leadership ORBIE.
›› Sangy Vatsa, EVP, Technology Officer, FIS received the Super Global ORBIE for organizations with more than $4 billion in annual revenue and multi-national operations.
›› Steve Miller, CTO, Steelcase Inc received the Global ORBIE for organizations over $1 billion in annual revenue and multi-national operations.
›› Received by Dev Ganguly, EVP, COO & CIO, Jackson Financial Inc. the Large Enterprise ORBIE for organizations over $3 billion in annual revenue.
›› Cathleen Curley, CIO, University of Michigan – College of Literature, Science, and the Arts received an Enterprise ORBIE for organizations over $1 billion in annual revenue.
›› Carrie Shumaker, Chief Information and Strategy Officer, University of Michigan – Dearborn receives Corporate ORBIE for organizations up to $1 billion in annual revenue.
›› Jason Joseph, CDO and CIO, BHSH System received a Healthcare ORBIE for hospitals and healthcare organizations.
The CIO of the Year ORBIE Awards is the leading technology executive recognition program in the United States. Since its inception in 1998, more than 500 CIO of the Year winners have received the prestigious ORBIE Award. ORBIE honors chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership. Finalists and winners are selected through an independent peer review process, led by previous ORBIE recipients, based on:
