AlabamaCIO announced the winners of its 2022 CIO of the Year® ORBIE® Awards. AlabamaCIO identified chief information officers in five main categories – Leadership, Large Enterprise, Enterprise, Large Corporate, and Corporate. The Awards were presented at the AlabamaCIO of the Year ORBIE Awards at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham.
“Every organization relies on technology, but strong leadership is the X-factor that drives change, motivates teams and the strategic diversity for success,” said Chris Morrow, AlabamaCIO Chair. “The ORBIE Awards are significant because they are judged by peers – CIOs who understand the challenges of technology leadership.”
The winners of the 2022 AlabamaCIO ORBIE Award are:
›› Ellen Holladay, CIO, Motion Industries (ret) received the Leadership ORBIE.
›› Ryan Loy, CIO, EBSCO Industries received the Large Enterprise ORBIE for organizations with over $ 1 billion in annual revenue.
›› Oliver Banta, VP & CIO, East Alabama Health received Enterprise ORBIE for organizations over $ 600 million in annual revenue.
›› Billy Helmandollar, CIO, DCH Health System received the Large Corporate ORBIE for organizations over $ 100 million in annual revenue.
›› Greg Solomon, Director of IT, Bank Independent received Corporate ORBIE for organizations up to $ 100 million in annual revenue.
The CIO of the Year ORBIE Awards is the leading technology executive recognition program in the United States. Since its inception in 1998, more than 500 CIO of the Year winners have received the prestigious ORBIE Award. ORBIE honored chief information officers who demonstrated excellence in technology leadership. Finalists and winners are selected through an independent peer review process, led by previous ORBIE recipients, based on:
