OhioCIO announced the winners of its 2022 CIO of the Year® ORBIE® Awards. OhioCIO identified chief information officers in seven main categories – Leadership, Super Global, Global, Large Enterprise, Enterprise, Large Corporate, and Corporate. The Awards were presented at the Ohio CIO of the Year ORBIE Awards at the Hilton Columbus in Easton.
“Every organization relies on technology, but strong leadership is the X-factor that drives change, motivates teams and the strategic diversity for success,” said Brian Shield, InspireCIO National Chair. “The ORBIE Awards are meaningful because they are judged by peers – CIOs who understand the challenges of technology leadership.”
The winners of the 2022 OhioCIO ORBIE Award are:
- Jim Fowler, EVP and CTO, received the Leadership ORBIE nationwide.
- David Burns, CIO, GE Aviation received the Super Global ORBIE for organizations over $ 5 billion in annual revenue and multi-national operations.
- Sheryl Haislet, CIO, Vertiv received Global ORBIE for organizations over $ 1 billion in annual revenue and multi-national operations.
- Matt Kull, CIO, Cleveland Clinic received the Large Enterprise ORBIE for organizations over $ 4 billion in annual revenue.
- Greg Tacchetti, Chief Information & Strategy Officer, State Auto Mutual Insurance Co. Enterprise ORBIE for organizations with over $ 2 billion in annual revenue.
- Sallie Arnett, VP IS & CIO, Licking Memorial Health Systems received the Large Corporate ORBIE for organizations over $ 700 million in annual revenue.
- David Blum, CIO, Hylant received Corporate ORBIE for organizations up to $ 700 million in annual revenue.
The CIO of the Year ORBIE Awards is the leading technology executive recognition program in the United States. Since its inception in 1998, more than 500 CIO of the Year winners have received the prestigious ORBIE Award. ORBIE honors chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership. Finalists and winners are selected through an independent peer review process, led by previous ORBIE recipients, based on:
- The effectiveness of leadership and management
- Business value created by change in technology
- Industry engagement and community efforts
The keynote address of the OhioCIO ORBIE Awards was delivered by Fran Dramis, Five-Time Fortune 500 CIO. About 300 guests attended, representing Ohio State’s leading organizations and their technology partners.
