SouthFloridaCIO announced the winners of its 2022 CIO of the Year® ORBIE® Awards. SouthFloridaCIO identified chief information officers in six key categories – Leadership, Super Global, Global, Large Enterprise, Corporate, & Healthcare. The Awards were presented at the South Florida CIO of the Year ORBIE Awards at the Signature Grand.
“Every organization relies on technology, but strong leadership is the X-factor that can make day-to-day IT an amazing strategic differentiator,” said Ann Dozier, SouthFloridaCIO Chair. “The ORBIE Awards are significant because they are judged by peers – CIOs who understand the challenges of technology leadership.”
The winners of the 2022 SouthFloridaCIO ORBIE Award are:
- Chris Drumgoole, COO, DXC Technology received the Leadership ORBIE.
- Tricia Ferreira, SVP, Technology Product Management, World Fuel Services Corporation received the Super Global ORBIE for organizations over $ 9 billion in annual revenue and multi-national operations.
- Received by Enna Zarate, VP and CIO, DHL Express USA Inc. the Global ORBIE for organizations with over $ 1 billion in annual revenue and multi-national operations.
- Received by Ann Dozier, SVP and CIO, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, Inc. the Large Enterprise ORBIE for organizations with over $ 8 billion in annual revenue.
- Kim Rometo, VP & CIO, Miami Dolphins received Enterprise ORBIE for organizations up to $ 600 million in annual revenue.
- Jeffrey Sturman, SVP and CDO, Memorial Healthcare System has received Healthcare ORBIE for hospitals and health care organizations.
The CIO of the Year ORBIE Awards is the leading technology executive recognition program in the United States. Since its inception in 1998, more than 500 CIO of the Year winners have received the prestigious ORBIE Award. ORBIE honored chief information officers who demonstrated excellence in technology leadership. Finalists and winners are selected through an independent peer review process, led by previous ORBIE recipients, based on:
- The effectiveness of leadership and management
- Business value created by change in technology
- Industry engagement and community efforts
The keynote of the SouthFloridaCIO ORBIE Awards was delivered by Chris Drumgoole, COO of DXC Technology, who was interviewed by Larry Quinlan, former Global Chief Information Officer at Deloitte. More than 350 guests attended, representing South Florida’s leading organizations and their technology partners.
