Topping the list of winners this week is Cisco Systems’ AppDynamics business, which says it is adopting an omni-channel sales model.

Also on the list this week are HP Inc.’s launch of “channel intelligence” resources to help partners increase sales, ServiceNow partner Thirdera’s strategic acquisition of UX/UI functions, and Nutanix launching Nutanix, a new version of its flagship AOS hyper-converged infrastructure software. Other products at the NEXT digital conference, as well as data integration technology developer Fivetran, made a strategic acquisition and an impressive round of financing.

Cisco’s AppDynamics enters 100% channel

AppDynamics, the application performance monitoring department of Cisco Systems, won applause this week for its decision to conduct business through this channel 100%. This move is in line with the parent company Cisco’s channel priority sales initiative.

About 70% of AppDynamics’ business has historically been completed through channel partners, and this number will rise to over 80% in 2020.

HP launches Amplify Data Insights to provide partners with analytics and growth opportunities

HP also launched some smart channel initiatives this week, launching HP Amplify Data Insights, a “channel intelligence” resource designed to provide partners with powerful data analysis to help them increase sales.

The Amplify Data Insights program provides partners with access to analytics dashboards in the HP Partner Portal, which contain information that can improve the positioning of customer opportunities.

Amplify Data Insights combines data from partners, HP’s own data sources, and third-party data and market research to provide partners with descriptive, predictive and normative insights. It provides partners with a way to measure performance, predict customer purchases, and optimize activities.

The program has been pilot tested with selected solution providers and is now available to partners at the Power level of the HP Amplify Partner Program. The initiative requires participating partners to opt-in by sharing certain data.

Leading ServiceNow partner Thirdera has expanded its digital design expertise through acquisitions.

Thirdera, a fast-growing solution provider in the ServiceNow field, made a smart acquisition this week to expand its service portfolio into the user experience/user interface design field.

Thirdera acquired Appoxio, a UX/UI designer, and is building a digital experience business unit around Appoxio employees and technology.

After the merger of three ServiceNow solution provider partners: Evergreen Systems, Cerna Solutions and NovoScale, Thirdera was launched earlier this year.

Appoxio is the top partner of ServiceNow, providing UX/UI design, portal development, custom application and integration services for the ServiceNow platform.

Adding Appoxio’s UI/UX functions to Thirdera’s service offerings will enable Thirdera to provide customers with more application and content design services, thereby making ServiceNow-based solutions more “people-oriented” and easier to access.

Nutanix launches AOS 6, providing business continuity for cloud platforms

Hyper-converged infrastructure company Nutanix uses its Nutanix .NEXT digital conference as the launch platform for a series of new software products, services and features that will help partners and customers meet the challenges of a hybrid, multi-cloud environment.

At the top of the list is AOS 6, which is a new version of Nutanix’s flagship AOS hyper-converged infrastructure software. It uses Flow Networking, a new network virtualization product on the AHV hypervisor, which can simplify the network and create a virtual private cloud. .

AOS 6 also has built-in new business continuity and disaster recovery functions and a disaster recovery dashboard for Nutanix Cloud deployments.

Nutanix also announced a strategic partnership with Citrix Systems, through which vendors will integrate their products so that users can access applications, desktops and data at scale from any device. This access will be achieved through a hybrid, multi-cloud deployment of Nutanix hyper-converged infrastructure and Citrix device-as-a-service, virtual applications and desktop services.

Fivetran acquires HVR, raising US$565 million

Data integration technology developer Fivetran made significant progress in acquisitions and venture capital this week: Fivetran reached an agreement to acquire data replication software developer HVR, and raised $565 million in Series D financing.

Fivetran and HVR provide technologies for building pipelines that move data between systems, such as operational applications and cloud-based data warehouses. Fivetran’s strengths are the development of tools and data connectors for automating data integration tasks, while HVR sells real-time data replication software that can efficiently move large amounts of data between systems.
