Launch a digital signature application developed in Norway in ServiceNow

Launch

-This is our first application released in the ServiceNow store, so for us using the ServiceNow solution in Sopra Steria, this is a huge and exciting milestone. Erik Kyllingstad, Signicat product manager for ServiceNow at Sopra Steria, expressed the hope that this will be the first of several releases.

This week, the app “Signicat Sign for ServiceNow” can be downloaded from the ServiceNow online store. The application is an off-the-shelf solution that integrates Signicat directly into the digital platform ServiceNow.

Mads Myrvoll, the director and principal of Sopra Steria’s investment in ServiceNow, said that the company can get the solution up and running in a short period of time and can quickly benefit from a simplified workflow.

He said that the consulting firm has global ambitions for apps developed in Norway.

-Initially, we focused on the Nordic market, but it is clear that the app has global potential and we eventually hope to develop it together with Signicat, Myrvoll said.

Successfully piloted on REMA 1000

Sopra Steria developed the app in cooperation with the grocery chain REMA 1000. The solution received good feedback from users on REMA 1000.

-We have to deal with a large number of annual accounts, board documents and contracts, and all content must be signed by several people. This application allows us to digitize large and distracting paper mills across departments. This means that we don’t have to deal with scanners and physical documents that must be stored digitally. Kim Hermansen, head of REMA 1000 accounting system and process development, said that the application makes our employees and all partners working with them easier and safer in their new daily lives.

Billion market

Signicat in Trondheim is behind the world’s largest digital ID center. In Norway, Signicat is the largest BankID provider on the market. According to estimates by Asger Hattel, CEO of Signicat, the market for electronic signatures will reach $5.5 billion by 2023.

-The demand for electronic signatures is growing exponentially. He said that Covid-19 makes this more important than ever, because it is usually impossible or undesirable to attend in person to sign documents.

Choose your own security level

Hattel said that the app’s “Signicat Sign for ServiceNow” makes it easier for various companies to ensure secure electronic signatures for contracts, agreements and documents. It replaces the slow and expensive paper-based signature process.

The app is easy to use and allows companies to monitor their signing process. It also provides an overview of signed documents and documents waiting to be signed.

In the application, the user can choose the most suitable security level. Smaller key documents can be signed with SMS code, while important documents can be signed with Buypass or BankID.

Take your own medicine

Mads Myrvoll of Sopra Steria revealed that there is already the first customer in the box:

-Our first customer is ourselves. With nearly 2,000 employees in Norway alone and a turnover of several billion Swedish kronor, it goes without saying that we have produced a large number of agreements to sign. Therefore, we are very happy to take our own medicine and look forward to achieving a better workflow and significantly increasing efficiency, he said.

-Best of Norway on ServiceNow

Helge Fjelberg, head of ServiceNow in Norway, said that cloud platforms are very strong in the private sector in the Nordic region, and the public sector is not far behind. He said that in terms of ServiceNow’s expertise, there is no other consulting environment in Norway that can compare with Sopra Steria.

-They belong to their own category, and our cooperation is vital to our growth in the Norwegian market. When I started work in 2016, Sopra Steria had 40 dedicated ServiceNow consultants in Norway. Today, they are close to 200. Now, I am looking forward to seeing how our users receive “Signicat Sign For ServiceNow”, Fjelberg said.
