One of our clients is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join their dynamic team of engineers.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provides support to users/administrators of our platform. Supporting and contributing to the growth of best practices for the delivery of support services
- Understanding our platform, Cloud technologies and troubleshooting skills to ensure successful resolution of challenging technical situations
- Acts as customer advocate, prioritizes, and manages assigned incidents and queue escalation with little or no oversight
- Engaging with cross functional teams such as operations and engineering to develop, drive and improve tools and processes for faster issue resolution
- Teaching junior team members in various technologies
- Excellent customer service skills along with the ability to apply technical knowledge to work independently on complex tasks.
- Conducting process assessments including suitability, maintenance, and support for automations.
- Providing guidance and recommendations for streamlining divisional level processes, systems, procedures, and templates as required in accordance with best practice.
- Creating documents in the process; this will include but is not limited to gathering requirements, process design and technical specifications.
- Driving valuable and insightful metric reporting or business process improvement and benefit realization
- Ensure that throughout the development phase, the process is documented along with development procedures for application use and security
- Supervise testing of the program prior to its deployment and release
- Check for any errors in the program logic and data and make the necessary recommendations to correct the program if necessary and/or augment the problem accordingly.
- Works with necessary teams to assist with application installation and deployment
- Assist in the preparation of implementation and implementation of the solution in a production environment
- Assist in resolving any problems identified in the integration and testing stages
- Support all code sets and implementations implemented in production in accordance with specified Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for the business
- Write and distribute task descriptions in a production environment to operate and maintain the solution designed and implemented
- Assist with process reviews after implementation
Knowledge and skills: 5+ years ServiceNow ITSM experience.- 3+ years of L3 engineer experience.- L3 DevOps Engineer who understands the ServiceNow platform (5+ years ServiceNow ITSM experience.)- Coding, scripting- development experience crucial- ie: JavaScript , HTML, PowerShell, Python, Bash, and how XML works- Approximately 1 year of experience with docker containers and VMs.- Analysis and identification of gaps, dev issues, SystemNow system monitoring and maintenance
Experience Required: Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills using automation- Scripting skills using PowerShell mainly but also Python and Bash- 2+ years experience with Python 3 or JavaScript- Minimum which is 1 year of experience with docker containers and VMs.
