British IT recruitment company Focus Cloud has acquired Cognitive Group, a specialist Microsoft recruitment company to form a new global recruitment brand, Focus Cloud Group.
The new company brings together two major organizations in the cloud recruitment market. It will offer global recruitment solutions on major cloud platforms including Workday, SAP, Microsoft, ServiceNow and the life science and cyber security sectors.
It aims to combine the experience and success Cognitive has with Microsoft recruitment solutions with Focus Cloud recruitment services and its specialization in Workday recruitment across Europe, so that both can grow and provide better services.
Focus Cloud was set up in 2015. Founder, Lloyd Gordon, will lead the new company and become CEO. Cognitive’s current chairman, Jonathan Wright, will become chairman.
“The solutions we offer have diversified since the company’s inception and moving into the Microsoft recruitment space was a natural step for the business,” said Focus Cloud founder Lloyd Gordon.
The cultural match between the two brands and the focus we share on supporting our people go hand in hand. The new group offers a unique value creation opportunity for our high performing employees.”
Cognitive Group has placed over 2,500 IT professionals on projects over the past 14 years. This merger means that Cognitive Group joins six other brands that are part of the Focus Cloud, each with a specialized technology focus.
“This deal bodes well for the future of both businesses as we aim to grow Cognitive and the broader Focus Cloud Group globally,” said Jon Keen, CEO of Cognitive Group.
“Our staff own 20 percent of the Cognitive brand, and this investment has enabled all shareholders to benefit, with further significant equity opportunities for the next period of expansion. “
