Nutanix enhances its automation with ServiceNow.

Nutanix

When companies want to simplify IT operations and expenditures in times of crisis, Nutanix introduced new features to help them automate infrastructure, application and cloud management, and announced a deeper integration of its private cloud platform/hybrid with IT workflow leader ServiceNow .

This integration is especially found in Nutanix Calm 3.0, the publisher’s DevOps automation and management solution. In addition to managing the application lifecycle of Calm 3.0 (by managing updates, patches, extensions, etc.), companies will also benefit from ServiceNow’s verification workflow and auditing capabilities. This new version of Calm also enables DevOps teams to easily automate workloads on their company’s hybrid infrastructure and provides a true infrastructure as code (IaC) solution. The Python-based dedicated language (DSL) enables deployment plans to be described in easy-to-understand codes and can handle the most complex application deployment scenarios.

But the integration of Nutanix and ServiceNow is not limited to Calm. Nutanix Prism Pro users can now respond to infrastructure alerts and events directly from the ServiceNow portal. Alarms and events are displayed as work orders in the ServiceNow interface.

In addition, this enhanced integration is now extended to Nutanix Xi Beam (management and optimization tool for hybrid clouds), so that companies can simplify and optimize expense management on public clouds, and adopt good security practices. In general, they can limit the involuntary consumption of resources in public clouds, for example. They were also able to automatically integrate Nutanix Xi Beam’s cost optimization and security strategies into existing ServiceNow workflows, thanks to cost-reducing recommendations and vulnerability alerts (by Beam Liang).

«When IT teams focus on providing remote office solutions, sometimes due to time and resources constraints, it is difficult for them to provide broader support for the business.Explain Rajiv Mirani, Nutanix’s CTO. «This deeper integration with ServiceNow and Nutanix’s broader suite of automation solutions will enable IT teams to reduce the time they spend on day-to-day management of their cloud infrastructure and applications, so they can focus on trade support».
