ServiceNow makes RPA plummet by acquiring Indian startup Intellibot – TechCrunch

ServiceNow

ServiceNow announced the acquisition of Intellibot, an RPA start-up company located in Hyderabad, India, becoming the latest company to set foot in Robotic Process Automation (RPA). The two companies did not disclose the purchase price.

This acquisition comes at a time when the company seeks to automate workflows throughout the organization. RPA provides a way to automate a set of legacy processes that usually involve humans handling mundane, repetitive tasks.

Josh Kahn, Senior Vice President of Workflow Products for ServiceNow Creators, said that the announcement was made after the company’s code-free workflow announcement earlier this month and is part of the company’s broader workflow strategy. .

“RPA enhances ServiceNow’s current automation capabilities, including low-code tools, workflows, scripts, integration with more than 150 out-of-the-box connectors, machine learning, process mining, and predictive analysis,” Kahn explained. He said that the company can now introduce RPA locally to the platform through this acquisition, but if customers need it, they can still use RPA robots from other vendors.

“ServiceNow customers can build workflows that include robots from pure RPA vendors such as Automation Anywhere, UiPath, and Blue Prism, and we will continue to work with these companies. In many cases, customers want to use our local RPA capabilities with our partners Functions together because they build an intelligent end-to-end automated workflow on the Now platform,” Kahn explained.

As other corporate suppliers enter the RPA market, the company is making this purchase. SAP announced a new RPA tool at the end of December and acquired the process automation startup Signavio in January. At the same time, Microsoft announced a free RPA tool earlier this month because this space has clearly attracted the attention of these large vendors.

ServiceNow has been buying frantically in the past year or so, including five companies including Element AI, Loom Systems, Passage AI and Sweagle. Kahn said that these acquisitions are to help the company automate the entire organization.

“As we bring all these technologies to the Now platform, we will accelerate the ability to automate more and more complex use cases. Such as better handling of unstructured data in documents such as written forms, emails, and PDFs, and larger More flexible automation of data sets and non-routine tasks,” Kahn said.

Founded in 2015, Intellibot will provide ServiceNow with a stronger foothold in India. The two companies are expected to complete the transaction no later than June.
