ServiceNow announced that the company is acquiring the Belgian startup Sweagle. Sweagle specializes in configuration data management. It is not clear how much ServiceNow will pay the company.
With the acquisition of Sweagle, ServiceNow can provide its customers with the ability to identify and intercept inconsistencies in applications and infrastructure during the agile development cycle. Sweagle’s software is integrated into ServiceNow’s service map roadmap by managing configuration data for public and private cloud environments and modern application infrastructure (such as microservices, containers, and serverless computing).
RJ Jainendra, Vice President of ServiceNow said: “With Sweagle’s configuration data management capabilities, we will enable DevOps teams to deliver application and infrastructure changes faster while reducing risk.” “Sweagle also brings deep DevOps talent to ServiceNow. .”
Central data platform
Sweagle was established in 2017 to provide configuration data management as a service. The platform allows users to manage their configuration data, such as settings, parameters, security data, etc., from a central control panel. This makes it easier for DevOps and IT teams to manage data across the enterprise.
The platform uses machine learning to prevent misconfigurations that may cause product failures and resolve problems as quickly as possible. The platform acts as a “single source of truth” for configuration data, so this data will not be distributed across different tools.
According to data from Pitchbook, Sweagle has raised $3.12 million in investment. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year.
