Distributing, managing and following up vaccination against covid-19 in a smooth manner is one of the biggest logistical challenges facing the world. Scotland’s NHS built its own solution on the platform of the software company ServiceNow to achieve its goal of vaccinating 5.5 million residents of the country within three months. The company has now released an independent solution that can facilitate more organizational processes.

The Scottish technology solution is based on ServiceNow’s adaptive platform and was developed in just six weeks. In the first 12 hours after launch on January 20, 220,000 vaccination bookings have been made through the app.
In addition to NHS Scotland, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and more than 100 other organizations are working with ServiceNow to develop effective vaccination processes and tools.

Frederick Wennmark said that in many ways, this may be the biggest logistical challenge facing modern healthcare, at least in terms of how many workflows and logistical chains must be synchronized and connected to make it work.

ServiceNow has developed an off-the-shelf tool called vaccine management management, which organizations can use to build customized digital tools for managing mass vaccination. Among other things, the tool can help citizens obtain correct and up-to-date information about vaccinations, make appointments and receive notifications from participants who administer the vaccine itself. For example, the solution synchronizes the booking itself with real-time information from the inventory system, so that vaccination can be rapidly increased and decreased based on the number of vaccines available.

ServiceNow has also developed a number of tools that make it easier for companies and organizations to respond to current situations, including a safe workplace suite, focusing on employee safety and preparedness in the workplace, and emergency response applications that provide process support in crisis situations. In the near future, ServiceNow will introduce more solutions to help companies manage vaccination.

Simplify the process
