Cisco and ServiceNow announced a new collaboration for contact tracking in the fight against COVID-19.
The company integrated Cisco’s location services platform DNA Spaces with ServiceNow’s Safe Workplace application.
With several workers returning to the office, this combination is designed to help organizations better assess the level of interaction between employees in order to limit the spread of the virus.
The DNA Spaces platform is part of Cisco’s network segmentation product portfolio. It includes the company’s wireless and geolocation technologies. In the case of contact tracking, the solution provides analysis based on the movement of individuals in the building, and the possibility of operating in real time based on this information.
By activating the “Proximity Report” function of the platform, users can obtain a complete summary of the area, floors and buildings a person is in, the time spent in these places, and a list of nearby people.
ServiceNow designed the Safe Workplace Suite to help organizations ensure that employees safely return to the workplace during the pandemic. The system can monitor the health of workers and manage the inventory of personal protective equipment. The dashboard provides an overview of workplace intelligence and public data graphs about infection rates.
Customers of both companies can now import DNA Spaces travel reports directly into Safe Workplace for a more accurate overview.
Cisco said in a blog: “Through this integration, companies will be able to make more informed decisions to curb the spread of the virus.”
